I hadn’t had a need to use Voice Isolation until recently. I had an interview where I couldn’t turn off a hotel AC unit and my talent and I were sitting right next to it. It was crazy how well Voice Isolation worked. For my final edit, I used RX9 to do my normal audio editing, but I still needed just a touch more in FCP with Voice Isolation on my track at the very beginning. There was just a touch of mic bleed echo so I added it to the master audio track rather than the individual tracks.
The reason I needed RX9 for the final edit, in my opinion, is that I still had some mic bleed between the two mics using only Voice Isolation, and RX9 virtually eliminates other specific voices. I don’t think it’s the intended use, but that how I use it for interviews. I’ve even used it for background music (we didn’t have Voice Isolation in FCP at that point).
Even so, my first step will be to see if Voice Isolation will fix the issue before resorting to other means outside of FCP.
goodi insght Mark, Thanks for sharing, I usually have to manually reduce Microphone bleed, so I will try th voice isolation setting
