This is great news for media folks and I’ve been saving my pennies to buy one. However, I don’t plan to buy one tomorrow.
Instead, I want to see what the options are, review the pricing and figure out what makes the most sense for my budget.
I’ll write more about this over the weekend for next week’s newsletter.
As always, I’m interested in what you think.

Thanks for helping us sort this all out! Your last blog about the new MacPro was very helpful. It will be interesting to see if anything has changed now that it is time to plop down the money.
All I want to know is can you upgrade the flash Hard drive?
No.
Larry
Hi Charles and Larry, yes you can upgrade the flash storage:

Dave:
Wow! Very cool. I did not know this – thanks for the correction.

Also, I’m excited for all that 4K stuff but what I want to know is how this beast chomps through 1080p HD footage. You know, with some effects like NeatVideo noise reduction etc.
Dave:
I totally agree. 4K is nice, but I’m still buried in the HD world.

Hi Larry, how’s that loaner Mac Pro coming along?
Dave:
Great.
Here’s a link to my first of two articles about it: http://www.larryjordan.biz/the-new-mac-pro-ridiculously-fast/
