Don’t forget, you may have to quit FCPX after you’ve moved the DCIM folder into a subfolder in order for FCPX to recognize they folder move. It took me a 20 minutes to figure this out. (smh). Originally I just kept going back and forth from the Import Media window after I nestled the folder into a subfolder while FCPX was still running.
OK, I import my media from a card reader into FCPX. It creates a library on the hard drive. I create a folder with project name and move the library into it. The problem is when I do the import command it shows the hard drive as a camera and displays every media file. I tried renaming the folder but to no avail.
Paul:
Somehow, a camera card was copied to your hard disk without going into a folder. FCP X is seeing the folder architecture of a camera card repeated on your hard disk. If you can’t spot it, you’ll need to contact Apple Support to have them help you track this down.
