Kimball Carr writes:
As a long time FCP studio user, I upgraded to Leopard this year and today in preparing to export a 30 second multitrack commercial spot from FCP to STP I see my export options are ‘grayed out’. A search on Apple’s forums yields sparse results and the most helpful hint I can see is a suggested reinstall of FCP Studio 2. (Yikes!) So …despite my misgivings and with a healthy dose of reliance on my Time Machine backup should I need to set the clock back to yesterday….I am reinstalling FCP Studio 2 as I type.
I wondered if you had experienced this, or could shed some light.
Larry replies: I wasn’t sure, so I asked readers for an answer.
UPDATE – Sept. 2

This user doesn’t have to re-install FCS. If I am reading that question correctly, they just have to highlight all their clips in the timeline (cmd-a) and then right click one of the selected clips (control click), and choose Send To > Soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project. Save the exported project as a STP project, after which STP will then open the Sent sequence in a new multitrack project.
Larry replies: Greg pointed out what I missed in Kimball’s description — you need to highlight your clips before you can send them. Thanks!
