Double-system sound is the process of recording video on one device (the camera) while recording audio on a separate device (a digital audio recorder.) This process is necessary because not all cameras – especially high-end cameras – record audio or, in the case of DSLR cameras, record audio very poorly.
In this video excerpt, host Larry Jordan shows how to sync double-system clips using Adobe Premiere Pro CC and explains the benefits behind this system.
