Multicam editing is ideal for sports and live performance, where you are covering the action with more than one camera, because it allows editing all those cameras at the same time. But, it can also be used in less traditional ways. With recent upgrades and improvements from Adobe in multi-camera editing, multicam editing in Premiere is faster and better than ever.
Thinking of unusual uses, a common training technique is to record a presenter on camera, then add their Powerpoint or Keynote slides over their shoulder during editing. In this short video tutorial, host Larry Jordan shows how to use multicam editing to edit these slide sequences faster than editing each slide individually.

5 Responses to Premiere Pro CC: Edit Presenter Slides Using Multicam [Video]
Wondering how to do this in FCP X
Mvoelker:
It is very similar. This article explains it in detail:

I experimented with it for an hour with poor results: when I scale and position the multi clip consisting of the slides to be in the upper corner it looks fine but as soon as I switch to the next slide in the multi clip that slide is back at the default center position, not scaled. Despite the fact that the entire multi clip was selected when I scaled and positioned. Strange.
Martin:
Hmm… I didn’t have that problem. My suspicion is that you are scaling a clip within the multicam clip, not the multicam itself.

The one workaround I found was to paste attributes (transform) once the slides were all positioned in the desired sequence.
