It’s been a while since I checked to see what’s new in Premiere. So, let’s take a look.
ADOBE NOTES: As with any software, we do not recommend updating when you are in the middle of a large project. The best time to update is when you’re between projects or working on smaller pieces.
Here’s a tutorial from Adobe providing best practices for upgrading.
NEW RELEASE – August, 2023 – version 23.6
Adobe improved support for ARRIRAW (a RAW image format used by Arri cameras). “Along with previously improved format support and GPU acceleration, ARRIRAW plays back in real-time and looks incredible, so you can focus on editing and grading.
“You can now access color management settings for ARRIRAW by navigating to Interpret Footage > Color. In the Color Settings panel, you can use the automatically detected Log C Media Color Space, override the color space, or apply an Input LUT.
“No matter your selected Media Color Space, Premiere Pro will make sure your footage is converted to match your sequence’s color space so your clips look great.” (Adobe release notes)

NEW RELEASE – June, 2023 – version 23.5
The 23.5 update of Premiere Pro introduced new Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect, guidance for installing the BRAW plugin, important fixes, quality and performance improvements, and more.

Larry,
This comment is actually in response to a webinar, where I did not see a section for comment.
The webinar Small Things That Really Matter was truly exceptional. I’ve been away from my editing for several weeks due to some life changes, and needed a refresher as I work my way back to what I love doing. Small Things was absolutely perfect for getting me and my equipment ready to take on my next edit. Our industry changes so rapidly that these refreshers are so necessary, and I always, always learn something new. Thanks for keeping us on top of things, Larry!
Gayle:
Thanks for your comment. This webinar was one of my favorites this year – and drew lots of favorable comments. I’m very glad you liked it.
