Whether the effect is as simple as a still frame, or a complex variable speed change during playback, changing the speed of a clip is a powerful visual effect guaranteed to catch the eye of the viewer and add “punch” to a scene.
Hold frames are new to Final Cut Pro X. They provide a more flexible way to freeze an image in the Timeline than using more traditional freeze frames.
