Renaldo asks:

When I import a video into DVD Studio Pro, the colored lights to the right of the file name stay orange. It doesn’t make an MPEG version of the video. Why not?

Larry replies: This depends on a preference setting in DVD SP.

If you encode as a background process, menus are converted while you work in the application, turning the amber light green.

If you encode at the end of the project, which is better if you are running on a slower processor, your assets are not converted to MPEG until you start to build the project.
