Emerson asks:
Is it possible to carry with me in a pen drive my custom final cut’s keyboard short cuts (just like avid systems) and install it in another machine? how does it’s work?
Larry replies: Yup.
Copy the file(s) you need from this folder:
[ home directory ] > Library > Preferences > Final Cut Pro User Data > Keyboard Layouts
These are just data files, unlike your FCP preferences, and can be copied easily from one computer to the next — PROVIDED they are always stored in a folder with the same name and along the same path.
Keep in mind that you can NOT do this with your general FCP preference files, just those files stored in their own folders, like Keyboard Layouts, Window Layouts, Browser Layouts, and other customization files that you create.
