[ This is an excerpt from a recent webinar: “AI-Powered Tools in DaVinci Resolve 20” which is available as a download in our store, or as part of our Video Training Library. ]
EXCERPT DESCRIPTION
Reducing background noise behind an on-location interview has always been a problem. However, AI-based tools in DaVinci Resolve 20 make this a lot easier.
In this short video tutorial, Larry Jordan explains the differences between AI Voice Isolation, in the free version, with AI Dialogue Leveler and AI Dialogue Separator, in the Studio Version.
They all provide ways to control background noise, but with varying degrees of control. Plus, their real power appears when you use them in the Fairlight page, but they are almost impossible to find. Larry explains this hidden interface.

WEBINAR DESCRIPTION
While the free version of DaVinci Resolve contains a wealth of editing tools, the Studio version unlocks the real power of AI for editing, effects and audio. While generative AI brags about all the ways it will replace editors; Resolve’s developers are creating ways to use machine learning to simplify difficult tasks without replacing the human at the center.
Presenting more than 30 demos, Larry Jordan illustrates how to use many of the AI tools in the Studio version of DaVinci Resolve 20.
AI can be a force for good, or evil. In almost all cases, the AI-powered tools in DaVinci Resolve enable you to edit faster, or achieve results that would be incredibly difficult to attempt any other way.
AUDIENCE LEVEL
This is an advanced-level session. Some knowledge of any version of DaVinci Resolve will be helpful.
NOTE: If you don’t any anything about Resolve, this “Getting Started” session is the best place to start!
