Hidden in the top right corner of the Apple Final Cut Pro interface is a small icon with a lot of big features behind it. And, if you are like most editors, you haven’t used it.
This is the Share icon.
Click it and it reveals the same menu as File > Share: all the currently available export options for Final Cut Pro.
Apple created this as a faster way to export your projects.
At the bottom of the Share icon menu is Add Destination. This is a fast way to get to Preferences > Destinations. Here you can add destinations to this icon (and the File > Share menu), or delete them.
To create a default destination – with Cmd + E as the keyboard shortcut – right-click and choose Make Default.
This is a very handy menu, tucked into a very small space.
