Apple’s Compressor doesn’t actually compress our video. Instead, it provides the instructions on how video is to be compressed and then delivers those instructions to a second program that actually does the compression in the background.



Creating a compressor droplet allows us to accomplish all this without even opening Compressor! And much, much faster. The great thing is you can built a droplet once, then use it over and over.
