TUTORIAL

One of the significant changes in Final Cut Pro 7 is how it exports still frames (also called “Freeze Frames”) and adds speed changes to clips. This webinar is designed to show you how these new features work and show you some of the hidden features you may not know about.

This tutorial illustrates the four ways we can change the speed of a clip inside Final Cut Pro:

  1. Create a still frame
  2. Use a Fit-to-Fill edit
  3. Make a Constant speed change,
  4. Make a Variable speed change.

Plus, the way that Final Cut 7 handles exporting still frames also changed. In this tutorial, you ‘ll learn how to export still frames, then deinterlace and resize them in Photoshop. We’ll also provide a table of recommended dimensions for resizing images.

Audience Level

This session is designed for editors with some experience using Final Cut Pro. While users of earlier versions of FCP can benefit from this session, the features illustrated here for both constant and variable speed changes require Final Cut Pro 7. You do not need Final Cut or Photoshop in order to view this lesson.
