PowerUP Tutorial 13: Fixing Tape Glitches

PowerUP Tutorial 13: Fixing Tape Glitches

$4.99

This short, narrated tutorial, hosted by Larry Jordan, shows you two ways to fix problems within a frame. First, by exporting, fixing it in Photoshop, then reimporting the single frame that's messed up. Or, second, to fix multiple frames that are damaged, by exporting a short clip and using Photoshop Extended CS3 or CS4 to fix it. Along the way, Larry shows you how to properly set color profiles so the image you import matches the color of the rest of your sequence.

Topic: Fixing Videotape Dropouts and Glitches with Photoshop

It’s the perfect shot — except it has a dropout in it that destroys that special moment. Or a glitch. Or some other technical weirdness that just drives you nuts. There’s no good way to fix these inside Final Cut Pro, but, with a recent version of Photoshop Extended, you can.

Every step of the process is shown, so that you can successfully use this technique on your own material.

Note: This is a QuickTime movie, you don’t need either Final Cut Pro or Photoshop to view this tutorial. While still frames can be cleaned up using any version of Photoshop, you’ll need Photoshop Extended CS3 or CS4 to repair video clips.
