101: Color Correct a Scene in FCP X

$9.99

In past webinars, we talked about how to read the video scopes and use the color correction tools. This is a great way to learn how the color correction technology in Final Cut Pro X works. But it doesn’t provide a lot of help when you are trying to create a “look” for a scene, or trying to get a bunch of different clips to match.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

In past webinars, we talked about how to read the video scopes and use the color correction tools. This is a great way to learn how the color correction technology in Final Cut Pro X works. But it doesn’t provide a lot of help when you are trying to create a “€œlook”€ for a scene, or trying to get a bunch of different clips to match.

In this video training for Final Cut Pro X, hosted by Larry Jordan, go beyond simple color correction as he takes three different scenes and shows how to use color to enhance the emotion of each scene. Larry illustrates how to use the video scopes to spot problems, then resolve them using the color tools in FCP X. Along the way, he gives you tips you can use to improve the image quality of your next project.

If you are new to color correction in Final Cut Pro X, we suggest watching this tutorial first to learn how the color tools work: Manual Color Correction in Final Cut Pro X, because this session assumes a basic understanding of how to use the video scopes and how the color correction tools in Final Cut Pro X work.

During this webinar, you’ll learn how to color grade three scenes:

  • Use a “Looks” effect to turn a scene shot during the day into night.
  • Enhance a winter scene by making it look “colder.”
  • Use shape masks and the broadcast safe filter to enhance the emotion in a scene about reconciliation.

AUDIENCE LEVEL

This intermediate-level webinar is designed for a Final Cut Pro X editor who is looking for color techniques to enhance the emotions of their scenes. (This video training is a QuickTime movie. You don’t need to own any other software to watch this movie.)

BONUS FEATURE!

To help you quickly find the information you need, we included chapter markers in the QuickTime movie for easy navigation. Click here to learn how to display them in your download.
