Resolve can easily display two timelines using either a single or dual monitor display. But it’s a bit fiddly. Here’s how this works.
I created two timelines, which are displayed in the Media Pool (red arrows).
Double-click one to open it in the timeline panel.
In the top left corner of the Timeline panel, click the Timeline settings icon (top red arrow) and choose Display Stacked Timelines (lower red arrow).
WAAY over on the top right side of the timeline panel, where you would never think to look, click this icon.
This switches the display to show two timelines. If both timelines are filled, great! If not, select the timeline that is empty. (Red text indicates the active timeline.)
Double click the timeline in the Media Pool that you want to put into the empty section.
Poof! Two timelines.
Done.
