Quick question from me here in Singapore…

How do you batch-clear ‘in and out’ points on a list of clips in FCP? For example, I have highlighted ten clips I want to drag onto the timeline to make a quick assembly. The problem is, when I create this assembly, FCP only uses sections of the clips I have left marked in & out from a previous task.

Larry replies: Simple — once you know the trick. You can do this in three steps:

Image

1. Select all the clips in the Browser which have durations you want to clear.
2. Control-click in the In column of the Browser and select Clear In at the bottom of the menu.
3. Control-click in the Out column of the Browser and select Clear Out.

At this point, all clip durations are reset.
